We seek to serve and share the gospel with the elderly, who quite often find it hard to connect with the wider church community.

“Everlasting joy will crown their heads.” (Isaiah 35:10)

We have a whole generation of people who do not have the capacity to come to our Sunday Celebrations or meet with us in our Missional Community. As a result, we regularly go into residential or nursing homes on a Sunday morning. “For you shall go out with joy…” (Isaiah 55:12). We do this to spend time with the residents, and while doing so we are able to share a time of worship, prayer and biblical message, helped through the art of puppetry. We then help the residents with a simple craft activity based on the bible message to keep as a reminder of what they have heard. Where appropriate, relationships are also maintained outside these occasions.

“You have made known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasure at your right hand.” (Psalm 16:11)

We meet as a Missional Community in Penketh on Thursday afternoons from 2 – 4pm, where we worship and pray together, and discuss the message shared at the previous Sunday’s Celebration. At least once a month our meetings are informal as we celebrate special occasions or have other social activities.
