VALUES
Five Values – A B C D E
Our values shape the kind of people that we become. In the same way, the values of King’s Church shape the way that we live our lives as followers of Jesus. We have five values, a simple A to E, which are described below and explain how and why we do what we do.
All involved
At King’s Church we recognise that everybody has a part to play as followers of Jesus. We value that God has given everybody different talents and gifts and we look to provide space for everybody to serve God, one another and our communities and networks with the gifts that each one of us has been given. We are a family, together, on a mission.
Believing and doing what the Bible says
The Bible is God’s book written to people. It is a manual for life. At King’s Church, we value the importance of believing what the Bible says and the importance of acting upon what it says too.
Community of committed relationships
At King’s Church we value the importance of committed relationships. We see in the Bible that the early church was an example of being like an extended family, who worked together to bring transformation to whole communities. We find this picture helpful in describing the way that we should relate to one another – we are a family, together, on a mission.
Disciples making disciples
God loves people – whether they know Him or not! At King’s Church, we value the amazing opportunity to share God’s love with the people around us. We will do that in a way that fits in with our individual personalities and abilities, but the important thing is to let people know that Jesus died for them and can transform their lives, helping us to enjoy life in all its fullness.
Empowered by the Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is God with us. He is God and is a member of the Holy Trinity. At King’s Church we value the work of the Holy Spirit in the way that He transforms lives, points people to Jesus, helps us to be secure in the love of God the Father and helps us to live our lives in the way that God wants us to. Being empowered by the Holy Spirit helps us to be who God wants us to be and do what God wants us to do.
