What is Seedbed?

Do you want to become more confident in knowing who you are as a ‘Missionary Disciple’? If the answer is ‘yes’, then Seedbed could be for you!

Seedbed provides a space for weekly training which helps people to recognise the potential for the expansion of the Gospel in their own lives and in the communities to which they belong. Seedbed aims to raise up missionary disciples who will ‘plant’ the Gospel and church into every area of society, both in the UK and overseas.

On Seedbed you will look at your identity, purpose and how following the lifestyle that Jesus invites you into really does lead to ‘Disciples Making Disciples’ being a reality and not a catchphrase. We will explore what it means to be sent out to a broken world to demonstrate the love and compassion of Jesus.

You will learn to:

  • Discover who you are in Jesus and grow in that identity.
  • Build a team in a Biblical way by exploring and applying the ‘Fivefold Gifts’ which the Apostle Paul speaks about in Ephesians 4.
  • Confidently share the Good News of Jesus.
  • Apply the rhythms, which we see in the life and ministry of Jesus, to your own life.
  • Learn principles to help you live as a missionary in the whole of life.
  • Plant church into all kinds of neighbourhoods and networks.

What is the time commitment?

The teaching element of Seedbed takes place every Thursday evening during term time from 7:30pm to 9:30pm. The next term begins on 19th September 2024.

If you live outside of the Warrington area, the practical mission element will take place within your own context. If you live in the Warrington area, there are many opportunities to join with us in order to work out what you are learning alongside others. We aim to give you the opportunity to apply what you have been learning in real world environments and so grow in gospel confidence.

All of those who bring the teaching input on Seedbed are practitioners, both from the UK and overseas, who are living as missionary disciples in various contexts.

To apply to be on Seedbed, please e-mail your interest to info@kingschurchwarrington.co.uk.

Options

If you are local to Warrington, you can join us in person for Seedbed.

Consider joining an extended version of Seedbed for two and a half days a week, alongside which we encourage you to find part-time employment. This internship option would be carried out in the Warrington area alongside King’s Church. Please contact us if you require further information about this option, or if you require assistance with accommodation.

If you are living further afield in the UK or overseas, you can access Seedbed online via Zoom. If you do this, you will be supported and encouraged to practically work out your training in your current context.
